Solo presentation of Heinz Baumüller with
EREMITAGE III
1984 until today
Baumüller started in 1984 to furnish a corner of his atelier in the Academy of Arts in Düsseldorf: with a green chair and a green table, on which he positioned a green varnished replica of his cranium and a green desk light with a glowing cross as its centre. The green colour of the tractors manufactured by Steyr in the Fifites, which the people in the Austrian countryside loved to paint their fences, shutters etc. with. Over the years new objects such as mock-ups for sculptures, pictures and text sheets have been added to the scenery.
An evolving collection of the artist's reflections on life and death.
