Between Abstraction and Expression
Wilhelm Drach, Andrea Pernegr and Eduardo Vega de Seoane all find themselves in such a field of tension during the creative process. This opens up spaces for them whose appeal lies in the fact that, on the one hand, you remain connected to reality, although at the same time you move away into non-representational spheres.
This is actually an ideal state in which to create from nothing, from emptiness, and enter new territory.
As the titles of Wilhelm Drach's works already reveal, he always starts from real motifs. Impulses for feelings that he retrieves exclusively from memory, alienates them, condenses them into abstract expressions. His painting process is a careful path of spontaneous composition, a struggle for freedom, an omission, an acceptance and a letting go, in order to engage with the picture again from a distance.

Andrea Pernegr's diary-like picture stories reflect her mood and describe her surroundings. She lovingly packs the trivialities that accompany her life into symbolically reduced allusions. She translates the inspiring objectivity into fictitious, individual metaphors for a successful day.
